Travels to the Equator

Posted by Ashley on October 29, 2008, 7:44 am

On Tuesday, three of our members were off to Newark Airport to travel to the great country of Ecuador. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and volcanoes as well as historic buildings and churches…Ecuador is a beautiful history-rich country that many do not get to experience.

I for one have been there….had a great time..discovered a lot…when do you get to see things like this….(yes i took this)

Andy, Chris, and Haney will be travelling to Ecuador but are really nervous about their travels.

Will they have the same experience down there as I have?

Pictured here is an Ecuadorian guard…..guarding the northern border of Ecuador where it hits Colombia considering just earlier this year they broke off ties with Colombia. Ahh this northern Border…where a U.S. citizen back in 2001 was kindnapped and held for ransom by Colombia.

Now According the US Department of State (travel.state.gov)

The U.S. Embassy in Quito advises caution when traveling to the northern border region of Ecuador, to include areas in the provinces of Sucumbios, Orellana and Carchi and northern Esmeraldas. U.S. government personnel are under limitations with respect to traveling alone and over-nighting in these areas due to the spread of organized crime, drug trafficking, small arms trafficking, and incursions by various Colombian terrorist organizations. Since 1998, at least ten U.S. citizens have been kidnapped near Ecuador’s border with Colombia.

  • Most beaches lack consistently staffed lifeguard stations.
  • U.S. citizens should carry identification at all times, including proof of U.S. citizenship.
  • Crime is a serious problem in Ecuador, and visitors should be alert and cautious.
  • Hundreds of Americans are robbed every year in Ecuador.
  • Travelers should avoid wearing expensive-looking jewelry and watches.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings, and try to not travel alone.
  • In Quito, travelers should be particularly alert on the crowded streets of south Quito, at the Panecillo, in Old Quito, and in the areas of El Tejar, Parroquia San Sebastian, Avenida Cristobal Colon, and Gonzalez Suarez.
  • In Guayaquil, take extra caution in the downtown area at night, in the street market area of La Bahia, at the Christ Statue (Sagrado Corazon de Jesus) on Cerro del Carmen, in the airport area, and in the southern part of the city.
  • Criminals sometimes use incapacitating drugs such as scopolamine on unsuspecting tourists in order to rob them.

See guys…there is nothing to worry about!

P.S. Don’t forget your twenty bucks you need to get out of the country!

Garden State - Only the strong Survive

Posted by Ashley on September 18, 2008, 8:13 am

The grass is always greener……………………in New Jersey?

According to a recent post, I apparently have a home state inferiority complex…..what a shame….

But let me enlighten some of you on a fascinating discover I have made in the Garden State!

Here we have the U-S of A…

Here we have New Jersey AKA the Garden State…

As we get closer we have Morris County..wow..doesn’t look too industrial does it…

OH what are those…..?? are those farms and trees and GARDENS?!

OH wait that is a farm!! My farm!! Is someone down there?

Let’s get a closer look shall we…

OH it’s haney..on a farm near a garden….what do you know!! I thought there weren’t any in this state….let’s lock you up shall we!

VICTORY IS MINE!!

Love ya too Haney!

New Jersey - yeah we don’t like you either

Posted by Ashley on September 16, 2008, 12:17 pm

So what is it with everyone and making fun of us? OH you are the armpit of america, you smell, dirty jerz, blah blah blah.

Yeah we don’t f*cking like you either! Have you ever thought about that? Ahhhh I guess….maybe you should have thought about it while driving down the turnpike to six flags. OH you like going there, but you don’t like New Jersey, but your state is not good enough to have one of those huh? Hum, oh you are from NY but we smell, could that be because you dump all your garbage here? I bet you were not thinking about that while driving down to the Jersey Shore all summer…to go check out the ladies and the dudes, hang on the boardwalk and head to Bar A in Belmar to pump your fist…but yet we are so uncool.

Also, we are helping out our fellow Americans by pumping our fists and not our gas. Every other state is self serve making the unemployment rate go up, but not us. We are putting people in business and giving them jobs and not allowing the dumb of American to pump gas and probably make the place explode.

Oh you love to go to Hoboken and party?? Where is that located again, oh yes that’s right New Jersey. Hoboken is home to many who graduate college and still wanna live in the same familiar feeling of let’s party but I have a sweet job that I can take a 15 minute path train to and not pay the high expensive rent of NYC.

What did you say about jughandles? You don’t like them? OH the jughandle…everyone gets so upset about not being able to make a left turn in New Jersey. Well have you ever thought about how upset we get when we travel to your state and have to sit through 5 lights to make a damn left turn cuz the line is so backed up and then it blocks the left hand fast lane. Ahh the jughandle…too bad it alleviates a lot of traffic!

And what is with everyone not from Jersey not knowing that the left lane is the fast lane and also not for trucks? We’re driving…we’re driving bam slow person in NJ, swooosh they move right over! and we are still driving without having to ease on the brakes at all. Also, no trucks! So amazing…they keep trolleying along in the right lane except to pass the slow Pennsylvania driver and even then they are trucking! Oh you have experienced this on your drive down the parkway to Atlantic City I presume. Oh yeah cause you love the casino and the boardwalk all in one. Gamble away my friends!

So I send out a cheers to all of New Jersey and all that are from here because together we are better.
So come by and…

First model of the year!!

Model 1 - street child

Ahhhhhh…the first model of the year for our newly designed website…..founded deep in the streets of good ol’ Atlantic City, NJ. He must of came from the Borgata when we spotted him with his vices, smelling of rum, cigarettes, wildflowers, and a little bit of shame. We knew at this moment how awesome our website was going to be.

Finding the model was the hardest part…as you can tell he photographs very well! It was all downhill from there. At times it was tough though considering he was from the streets and sooo H to the double O D.
